The second is “上善若水” (shàng shàn ruò shuǐ) – “the highest goodness is like water.” Water doesn’t force or shout; it simply flows, nourishes, and supports whatever is in its path, asking for nothing in return.
These ideas showed me a new way. My compassion didn’t have to be a heavy burden or a feeling of helplessness. It could be natural, effortless, and flowing—just like water. And my small business could become the very channel for that flow.
